OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
REGARDING ATTENDANCE AT THE ANNUAL AMERICAN
PUBLIC POWER ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE
WHEREAS, Platte River Power Authority Board Members and Staff are
encouraged to attend the annual conference of the American Public Power
Association (APPA) ; and
WHEREAS, the Platte River Power Authority Board of Directors has deemed it
appropriate to pay the expenses of Board members and their spouses to attend the
annual conference; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins City Council does not believe it is appropriate
for public agencies to pay the travel expenses for spouses to attend conferences;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins policies and procedures does not provide
for the payment of travel expenses for spouses.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS,
as follows:
Section 1. That the Fort Collins City Council encourages the Platte River
Board of Directors to reconsider the policy of paying for spouses' travel
expenses to the annual APPA conference; and
Section 2. That the Fort Collins City Council hereby directs the Fort
Collins' representatives on the Platte River Board of Directors to personally pay
the travel expenses of their spouses if they choose to take their spouses to the
American Public Power Association annual conference.
