HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-055-03/17/1992-ASCSU STUDENT REFERENDUM TRANSFORT BUS SERVICE TRANSIT SERVICES RESOLUTION 92-55 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY'S (ASCSU) BILL #2156, "TRANSFORT BUS SERVICE" AT STUDENT REFERENDUM ON APRIL 6, 7, AND 8, 1992 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins (Transfort) provides transit services to the students of Colorado State University; and WHEREAS, that service was restructured through the approval and implementation of the City's Transit Development Program (TDP) to better serve the university student; and WHEREAS, bus service to the Colorado State campus approximately doubled in 1991 ; and WHEREAS, the City has established a new transit center in the heart of the Colorado State campus; and WHEREAS, on April 6, 7, and 8, 1992, the student body at Colorado State University will vote on ASCSU BILL # 2156, "Transfort Bus System," which reads as follows: "In order to maintain current Transfort service levels to CSU, beginning fall semester 1992, shall the student fee for the Transfort Bus System be increased to $9.44 per full -time student in the fall and spring semester 1993, with a 70 cents per credit hour fee in the summer semester not to exceed $6.30. yes no " and, WHEREAS, the Campaign Reform Act allows the City Council to take a position on this election issue; and WHEREAS, the Council believes that the passage of ASCSU Bill #2156 would be in the best interests of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City of Fort Collins supports passage of ASCSU Bill # 2156, "Transfort Bus System" as published.
