OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE
FORT COLLINS COMPREHENSIVE AFFORDABLE HOUSING STRATEGY (CHAS)
TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) .
WHEREAS, the National Affordable Housing Act requires that, in order to
apply for certain Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs,
local governments must have an approved Comprehensive Affordable Housing Strategy
(CHAS) ; and
WHEREAS, since July of 1991, members of the Larimer County Affordable
Housing Task Force, including representatives and individuals from the various
housing and support services agencies, have been meeting to develop the Fort
Collins CHAS; and
WHEREAS, the CHAS identifies the various housing needs of low and moderate
income people in the community, establishes a series of priority programs to
address those needs and identifies specific projects to help implement the
priorities; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted by City staff on February 6, 1992,
to solicit citizen comments on the draft version of the Fort Collins CHAS; and
WHEREAS, the CHAS has been modified to reflect citizen input and additional
information provided by the housing and support service agencies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a public hearing on March 3, 1992, in
order to solicit citizen comments on the CHAS.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Manager is authorized to submit for approval the Fort Collins
Comprehensive Affordable Housing Strategy, dated March 3, 1992, to the Department
of Housing and Urban Development.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 3rd day of March, A.D. 1992.
