HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-027-02/18/1992-COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY FISH AND BENTHIC BIOSURVEYS IGA RESOLUTION 92-27 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR FISH AND BENTHIC BIOSURVEYS IN 1992 WHEREAS, City wastewater discharge activities have had an impact on water characteristics of the Cache La Poudre River; and WHEREAS, the City has been involved since 1981 in a survey program to determine the degree of impact that such activities have on the waters of the Cache La Poudre River; and WHEREAS, information regarding water quality is essential for water resources planning and management activities; and WHEREAS, for the aforesaid reasons, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City that said survey program be continued for the calendar year 1992. WHEREAS, Article III, Section 16 of the City Charter provides that the Council may enter into agreements with other governmental bodies for the performance of cooperative or joint activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1 . That the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an agreement with the Colorado State University for the continuation of a fish and benthic biosurvey program for the 1992 calendar year, in consideration of the payment by the City of a sum not to exceed Twenty-One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty-Four Dollars ($21,824.00) . Section 2. That the Mayor may, upon the recommendation of the City Water Utilities Director, extend the Agreement one (1) additional year and make such modifications to the Agreement as may be necessary to protect the City' s interests and to provide for water resources planning and management.
