OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO
ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH CARROLL BURACKER AND ASSOCIATES, INC. ,
TO CONDUCT A RESOURCES STUDY OF
THE FORT COLLINS POLICE SERVICES
WHEREAS, under Article II, Section 5 of the Charter, the City Council
is empowered to provide police services for the protection of the citizens
of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of determining the most effective
utilization of police personnel in order to meet the present and future
needs of the community for police services; and
WHEREAS, information regarding the optimal methods of providing police
services in an efficient and cost-effective manner may best be obtained
through a professional study and report; and
WHEREAS, the professional consulting firm of Carroll Buracker and
Associates, Inc. , has been recommended by the Chief of Police and the City
Manager as meeting the relevant City-established criteria for professional
consultants; and
WHEREAS, said firm is available to perform the aforesaid study and to
submit a report regarding the same for a sum not to exceed Thirty-four
Thousand Dollars ($34,000) ; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a professional services agreement, on terms and conditions acceptable
to the City, with Carroll Buracker and Associates, Inc. , to conduct a
resources study of the Fort Collins Police Services, for a sum not to
exceed Thirty-four Thousand Dollars ($34,000) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 19th day of January, A.D. 1988.
