HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-007-01/20/1987-AGREEMENT CARE A VAN RESOLUTION 87- 7 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH CARE-A-VAN TO PROVIDE SPECIALIZED TRANSPORTATION SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WHEREAS, Care-A-Van provides transportation services to the elderly, handicapped and economically disadvantaged citizens of Fort Collins which specialized services are not available through the City's Transfort bus system; and WHEREAS, the City desires to provide transportation service to all its citizens and has in the past contracted with Poudre-Thompson Transportation Corps, Inc. , dba Care-A-Van, to furnish this specialized service; and WHEREAS, Ten Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($10,500) is available in the General Fund and Fifty-five Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($55,300) in federal Section 9 grant money has been allocated to Care-A-Van to provide the City's total contribution of Sixty-five Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($65,800) under the terms of the proposed contract with Care-A-Van; and WHEREAS, in the event federal funds available to the City are increased/decreased, the allocation of pass-through funds to Care-A-Van will be increased/decreased proportionately, but will not exceed Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000) . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a contract with Poudre-Thompson Transportation Corps, Inc. , dba Care-A-Van, to provide transportation services to elderly, handicapped and economically disadvantaged citizens of Fort Collins for a sum not to exceed Eighty Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($80,500) .
