OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING THE COUNCIL'S INTENTION TO
INCLUDE THE AIR QUALITY PLAN,THE CONGESTION
MANAGEMENT PLAN, THE BIKEWAYS PLAN, AND
THE VARIOUS NEIGHBORHOOD AND CORRIDOR PLANS
OF THE CITY AS FOUNDATIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE GOALS AND
OBJECTIVES OF THE "CITY PLAN"
WHEREAS, the Council has previously adopted, as elements of the City's Comprehensive
Plan, the Air Quality Plan, the Congestion Management Plan, the Bikeways Plan, and various
neighborhood and corridor plans of the City; and
WHEREAS,the Council acknowledges and appreciates that the development of the aforesaid
Plans represents a considerable effort on the part of the citizens of the City, the City's boards and
commissions, and staff; and
WHEREAS, the Council believes that the aforesaid Plans represent an important statement
of the City's collective vision for the evolution of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS,the Council has further determined that the aforesaid Plans should be carefully
considered and incorporated into the development of the new "City Plan" so that, to the extent
appropriate, they and the other elements of the City's Comprehensive Plan can be implemented
either city-wide or, as applicable, within neighborhoods.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the staff is directed to take such steps as are necessary to ensure that the
Air Quality Plan, the Congestion Management Plan, the Bikeways Plan, and the City's various
neighborhood and corridor plans are used in the development of the "City Plan" as foundational
documents for guiding the establishment of the goals and objectives of the City Plan.
Section 2. That the City Plan identify those components of the plans referenced in
Section I above, and of the other elements of the Comprehensive Plan, that should be used to review
development proposals on a site specific basis,either City-wide or within such specific geographical
areas as may be defined within each respective plan.
