OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH RBD, INC.
FOR DESIGN OF THE WEST PROSPECT ROAD BRIDGE OVER THE
LARIMER COUNTY CANAL NO. 2
WHEREAS, the 1988 Budget for the City of Fort Collins includes Five
Hundred One Thousand Six Hundred Thirty Dollars ($501,630) for the design,
right-of-way acquisition and reconstruction of the West Prospect Road
Bridge over the Larimer County Canal No. 2; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with the Capital Project Management Control
System, Requests for Proposals/Qualifications (P-195) were released to
solicit consultants for the engineering services for the design of the
Summit View Drive Bridge; and
WHEREAS, all consultants were advised that the firm chosen, if
performing acceptably on the Summit View Drive Bridge, would be eligible to
do the design for the West Prospect Road Bridge and the Laporte Avenue
Bridge over the Larimer County Canal No. 2; and
WHEREAS, the consultant selection committee reviewed the proposals and
interviewed the top four firms and selected RBD, Inc. as the best qualified
firm for the Summit View Drive Bridge project; and
WHEREAS, RBD, Inc. did perform acceptably on the design of the Summit
View Drive Bridge and is considered the best qualified firm for this
project; and
WHEREAS, staff has negotiated a time and reimbursable direct cost
agreement with RBD, Inc. for a sum not to exceed Twenty-five Thousand
Dollars ($25,000) ; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a Professional Services Agreement with RBD, Inc. for the design of the
West Prospect Road Bridge for a sum not to exceed Twenty-five Thousand
Dollars ($25,000) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 2nd day February, A.D. 1988.
