OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S
1987-88 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins Community Development Block Grant
("CDBG") Program is an ongoing grant administration program funded by the
Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, on July 7, 1987, the City Council passed Resolution 87-97,
which established a listing of programs and projects to be funded during
the City's Fiscal Year 1987-88 Community Development Block Grant Program;
and
WHEREAS, one of the approved projects was an allocation of $50,000 to
the City of Fort Collins to assist an agency in the acquisition of land for
an emergency shelter; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a request from Catholic Community
Services Northern to amend the allocation of funds from land acquisition to
site development purposes, including the payment of City Development Fees
associated with the construction of a new emergency shelter; and
WHEREAS, the CDBG Citizens Steering Committee has reviewed the request
and recommends approval of the amendment; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Council formally approve the
expenditure of CDBG funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the above mentioned $50,000 allocation contained in Resolution
87-97 be amended from the purpose of assisting in land acquisition for an
emergency shelter to the purpose of assisting in the payment of site
development costs, including the payment of City Development Fees for the
construction of a new emergency shelter; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any unused portion of said funds shall be
returned to the CDBG Program for future reallocation by the City Council .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
19th day of January, A.D. 1988.
