OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO
A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
CRAWFORD & COMPANY FOR CLAIMS HANDLING SERVICES
WITH ANNUALLY RENEWABLE TERMS FOR 1990
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins desires to contract for Claims
Handling Services for liability and worker's compensation claims; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent solicited proposals and received six (6)
proposals; and
WHEREAS, the proposals were reviewed by City staff and interviews of
the top-ranked firms were conducted; and
WHEREAS, Crawford & Company has been determined to be the firm best
suited to provide Claims Handling Services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a one-year professional services agreement, renewable for an
additional year, with Crawford & Company for claims handling services for
1988/1989 and is authorized to negotiate the 1989 fees for Forty-five
Thousand One Hundred Six Dollars and Seventy Five-Cents ($45,106.75) based
upon the following estimated fee schedule; with adjustments to be made in
the total amount of compensation according to the claims actually handled
during the term of the agreement:
Worker's Compensation (No Lost Time)
178 claims @ $ 51 .00 per claim = f 9,078.00
Worker's Compensation (Lost Time)
Auto Liability 38 claims @ $316.25 per claim = $12,017.50
General Liability 36 claims @ $174.75 per claim = f 6,291 .00
Incident Reports 104 claims @ $167.50 per claim - $17,420.00
Vehicle Damage Appraisals 6 @ $ 39.50 per claim - $ 237.00
1 @ $ 63.25 per claim - $ 63.25
TOTAL $45,106.75
