HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-153-09/16/1986-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FINAL REPORT TASK FORCE RESOLUTION 86-153 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ACCEPTING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE TASK FORCE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, the City Council created the Task Force on Economic Development in December of 1985; and WHEREAS, the Task Force on Economic Development was directed by the City Council to: a. Interview and conduct discussion with various community groups and individuals as to their ideas, suggestions, and beliefs relative to economic development. b. Compile and examine the data and environmental factors that currently exist and are expected to exist that impact the City's economic base. c. Identify the issues and opportunities facing Fort Collins with respect to economic development. d. Identify the community resources available that could be used to support an Economic Development Plan. e. Formulate and devise various options, and/or strategies to guide and coordinate the community's economic development efforts. WHEREAS, the Task Force on Economic Development completed a report to the City Council which considers issues of community concern and makes general recommendations; and WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned about the issues raised by the Task Force on Economic Development, and will carefully consider the recommendations contained therein; and WHEREAS, the City Council is committed to the support and maintenance of a self-supporting local economy that provides a variety of employment, educational , housing, shopping, cultural , and recreational opportunities for all citizens in the community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the report from the Fort Collins Task Force on Economic Development be accepted, and that the members of the Task Force be gratefully acknowledged for their work in completing this project. Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 16th day of September, A.D. 1986. A TEST: Mayor City Clerk
