OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF REPAIR
OF EXISTING SEWER LINES BY THE INSITUFORM
SLEEVING METHOD
WHEREAS, the Water Utility Department of the City of Fort Collins
operates and maintains sanitary sewer lines throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the Water Utility Department has researched various methods of
repair to existing sewer lines in the older parts of the City and has
determined that the most efficient and cost effective process for repair is
the lining process patented by Insituform Plains, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, last year the Purchasing Department received only one bid,
that of Insituform Plains, Inc. , for the lining process needed to repair
sanitary sewer lines in the City; and
WHEREAS, this year approximately 275 lineal feet of sewer line is in
need of repair and Insituform has proposed to perform the work for a total
cost of Twenty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-Six Dollars and
Seventy-Five Cents ($25,986.75) ; and
WHEREAS, monies are budgeted and available to pay the cost of repair
proposed by Insituform Plains, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 2-59 of the Code of the City
of Fort Collins the City Council must approve all sole source purchases in
excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000. ) ; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of
Fort Collins that the repair of 275 lineal feet of sanitary sewer line be
done by the lining process patented by Insituforms Plains, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that a sole source purchase of repair to sanitary sewer lines by
Insituforms Plains, Inc. be, and it hereby is, approved for a total cost
not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-Six Dollars and
Seventy-Five Cents ($25,986.75) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 2nd day of September, A.D. 1986.
