HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-136-08/19/1986-OLD POWER PLANT POUDRE RIVER TRUST RENEW LEASE RESOLUTION 86- 136 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO RENEW THE LEASE OF THE OLD POWER PLANT TO THE POUDRE RIVER TRUST WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has authorized the Poudre River Trust (the "Trust") to work toward the improvement of the Poudre River area; and WHEREAS, the Trust has determined that the use of the old City Power Plant as a visual arts center is its priority project; and WHEREAS, Resolution 85-31 authorized the lease of the Power Plant to the Trust for a period of 18 months to use the Power Plant as a visual arts center and the Trust now wishes to continue leasing the Power Plant from the City for an additional two years; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that use of the Power Plant by the Trust is in the public interest and will be a benefit to the community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager is hereby authorized to extend the lease with the Poudre River Trust to allow it to use and to sublease the Power Plant for office space and other uses as it determines to be in the best interests of the community. The lease provisions will include, without limitation, the following: 1 . The term of said lease will be for not more than 24 months. 2. The City will receive a nominal lease payment of $1 and the Trust will be responsible for a proportionate share of the utility costs for the Power Plant.
