HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-133-08/05/1986-DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ROBINSON PIERSAL PLAZA PROJECT RESOLUTION 86-133 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE ROBINSON PIERSAL PLAZA PROJECT LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF MULBERRY STREET AND COLLEGE AVENUE BY THE FORT COLLINS DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Downtown Development Authority has been duly organized in accordance with CRS 31-25-804, Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973 as amended; and WHEREAS, R.P. Plaza, a Colorado Joint Venture, has proposed the construction of new commercial space and new housing referred to as the Robinson Piersal Plaza project, on the block bounded by East Mulberry Street, South College Avenue, East Magnolia Street, and Remington, Fort Collins, Colorado; and WHEREAS, said properties lie within the Downtown Development Authority district; and WHEREAS, said project meets with the goals and objectives as established by the Downtown Development Authority Plan of Development and the City of Fort Collins Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, R.P. Plaza, a Colorado Joint Venture, and the Fort Collins Housing Authority have satisfactorily demonstrated that as a part of the project, 67 units of elderly housing, thirty percent (30%) of which are to be exclusively reserved for low-income residents, shall be built as a part of the Robinson Piersal Plaza project; and WHEREAS, through execution of certain agreements between the Fort Collins Housing Authority and R.P. Plaza, a Colorado Joint Venture, the Fort Collins Housing Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Fort Collins Housing Authority, shall master lease and manage the elderly housing portion of the Robinson Piersal Plaza project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, that it hereby approves the participation of the Downtown Development Authority in the amount of $850,000, for offsite public improvements (including sidewalks, retaining walls, utility relocation, College Avenue improvements) and onsite improvements for underground parking associated with the Robinson Piersal Plaza project.
