OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
RESOURCE CONSULTANTS, INC. TO PREPARE
A PRELIMINARY MASTER PLAN FOR FOSSIL CREEK
COMMUNITY PARK AND ENGINEERING DOCUMENTS FOR
THE REHABILITATION OF PORTNER DAM
WHEREAS, in 1982 the City of Fort Collins acquired a 100 acre parcel
in south Fort Collins to be used as a park site; and
WHEREAS, City growth has resulted in the need for development of a
community park on this site; and
WHEREAS, the City's Purchasing Department released the Fossil Creek
Community Park Request for Proposals (RFP #P-151) to solicit consultants
for the preparation of a preliminary park master plan and also engineering
documents for the rehabilitation of Portner Dam which is located on the
park site; and
WHEREAS, eighteen consultants submitted proposals and a review panel
conducted interviews and determined that Resource Consultants, Inc. is the
firm best suited to perform the proposed work; and
WHEREAS, Resource Consultants, Inc. 's fee is proposed not to exceed
Fifty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($53,300. ) ; and
WHEREAS, funding for this portion of the project is budgeted and
available in the Parkland Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board voted unanimously to approve
the agreement with Resource Consultants, Inc. and recommends approval by
the City Council ; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000. ) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a professional services agreement with Resource Consultants, Inc. for
the preparation of a preliminary master plan for Fossil Creek Community
Park and engineering documents for the rehabilitation of Portner Dam for a
sum not to exceed Fifty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($53,300. ) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 15th day of July, A.D. 1986
