HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-110-07/01/1986-CHEMICAL FLOW SPRING CREEK MONITORING U S GEOLOGICAL SURVEY RESOLUTION 86- 110 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A JOINT FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR FOR THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE SPRING CREEK CHEMICAL - FLOW MONITORING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins needs stream flow and quality data regarding Spring Creek to provide baseline information for cost-effective water quality and quantity management; and WHEREAS, in 1985 the U.S. Geological Survey conducted a moni..t_oring _ program on the Ca`c`Fe Ta__Pdudhd:3tiuex which p—noN ided_s_imilar_ information_ to _tffe i y in a ime y and professional manner; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins that the City participate in a chemical - flow monitoring program on Spring Creek, which discharges into the Poudre River; and WHEREAS, the cost of the City's participation is Twelve Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($12,300) and said funds are budgeted and available in the Stormwater Utility Fund; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Article II, Section 16 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins, the City Council may, by resolution, enter into cooperative activities with other governmental bodies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a Joint Funding Agreement with the Geological Survey, United States Department of the Interior, for the City's participation in a chemical - flow monitoring program on Spring Creek for a cost of Twelve Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($12,300) .
