OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION
TO KELLY OHLSON FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO
THE COMMUNITY AS COUNCILMEMBER, ASSISTANT MAYOR, AND MAYOR
WHEREAS, Kelly Ohlson served as a Councilmember representing the City
at-large from April 12, 1983 until his resignation on March 10, 1987 to
accept the position of Public Trustee for Larimer County; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ohlson served as Assistant Mayor of the City of Fort
Collins from March 12, 1985 until March 3, 1986; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ohlson also served as Mayor of the City of Fort Collins
from March 3, 1986 until his resignation from office on March 10, 1987; and
WHEREAS, during his term of office he has served as a representative
to Larimer-Weld Council of Governments (COG) and the Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) Policy Board, as chairman of the MPO Urban Area Policy
Committee, and as a member of the COG Energy Impact Review Committee and
National League of Cities' Human Development Policy Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ohlson has also served on the Poudre Fire Authority Board
of Directors and on the Ethics Board, and as liaison to various Boards and
Commissions and on numerous other Council committees during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, this period of time has seen great growth and change in the
City, and Kelly Ohlson was called upon to devote substantial time and
energy to the affairs of the City of Fort Collins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to
Kelly Ohlson for his service and contributions to the community as
Councilmember, Assistant Mayor, and Mayor.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
17th day of March, A.D. 1987.
