HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-021-02/03/1987-MASS SELECTIVE DETECTOR PURCHASE WATER QUALITY LABORATORY RESOLUTION 87- 21 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROVING SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF A MASS SELECTIVE DETECTOR WHEREAS, Water Quality Laboratory needs a Mass Selective Detector to perform monitoring requirements for drinking water set by the E.P.A. ; and WHEREAS, the Mass Selective Detector will interface with other pieces of instrumentation already in existence, will integrate with the Water Treatment Plant #2 automation system, and is the only item available to the City which will meet the needs of the Water Quality Laboratory without substantial additional expenditures for supplemental equipment; and WHEREAS, through an independent search, these facts have been independently verified by the Purchasing Agent; and WHEREAS, the recommendations and cost data have been submitted to the City Manager who has approved this sole source purchase; and WHEREAS, the cost of the Mass Selective Detector is Thirty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($33,500) ; and WHEREAS, monies are available and budgeted for this purchase; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 2-59 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, the City Council must approve all sole source purchases in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) ; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins that the Mass Selective Detector be purchased for the Water Quality Laboratory. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mass Selective Detector be purchased for use at the Water Quality Laboratory for a cost not to exceed Thirty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($33,500) .
