HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-186-12/15/1987-EMPLOYEE DENTAL PLAN RESOLUTION 87- 186 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EMPLOYEE DENTAL PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins wishes to remain competitive with other front range employers in its salaries and benefits in order to attract and keep high quality employees; and WHEREAS, the inclusion of a dental benefit is a common benefit which is not currently provided to City employees; and WHEREAS, staff has developed a capitated reimbursement dental plan which would provide up to $500 per employee per year in reimbursements for dental expenses of employees and their families; and WHEREAS, Council believes that this is an important benefit which will contribute to the wellness of all employees . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to establish an employee dental plan in 1988, including the following features: 1 . A self-funded, capitated dental reimbursement plan which will reimburse to employees 50% of all eligible dental expenses for themselves and eligible family members, up to $500 per year. 2. Administered by City staff in order to best control costs and provide the most efficient dental plan administration. 3. Funded through monies appropriated in the 1988 Adopted Budget for salary and benefit improvements.
