HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-032-02/17/1987-AGREEMENT COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS LARIMER WELD REGIONAL MONITORING PROGRAM POUDRE RIVER RESOLUTION 87-32 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE LARIMER-WELD REGIONAL COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS FOR THE CITY'S CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN THE U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY COOPERATIVE POUDRE RIVER MONITORING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins needs river flow and quality data regarding the Cache La Poudre River to provide baseline information for cost-effective water quality and quantity management; and WHEREAS, in 1986 the U.S. Geological Survey conducted a monitoring survey of seven sites on the Poudre River from Cameron Pass through Fort Collins which provided this necessary information to the City in a timely and professional manner; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins that the City, again, participate in the U.S. Geological Survey Cooperative Poudre River Monitoring Program; and WHEREAS, the cost of the study will be shared by Kodak Colorado, the Town of Windsor, and the City of Greeley and monitored by the Larimer-Weld Regional Council of Governments; and WHEREAS, the cost of the City's participation is Thirty-One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($31,770.) and said funds are budgeted and available in the Water and Sewer Fund; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000. ) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council in an open Council meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Larimer-Weld Regional Council of Governments for the City's participation in the U.S. Geological Survey Cooperative Poudre River Monitoring Program for a cost of Thirty-One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($31,770.) . Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 17th day of February, A.D. 1987. Mayor City Clerk
