HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-028-02/17/1987-1 UNIT PER 2 ACRES FOOTHILLS AREA RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT UGA RESOLUTION 87- 28 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS MODIFYING THE POLICY FOR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE "FOOTHILLS AREA" OF THE FORT COLLINS UGA FROM 1 UNIT PER 2.29 ACRES TO 1 UNIT PER 2 ACRES WHEREAS, on April 29, 1980, the County of Larimer and the City of Fort Collins entered into an intergovernmental agreement for the purpose of establishing a formal mechanism to manage growth in the area surrounding the City of Fort Collins; and WHEREAS, from time to time it is necessary to review and modify the various elements of the Urban Growth Area Program; and WHEREAS, during August and October of 1986 the City Council considered several changes to the Urban Growth Area Program, including a boundary change to add approximately 1 ,360 acres of privately owned land to the urban growth area, land use policy changes making the "foothills area" a special rural character area within the urban growth area, and establishing development design guidelines for the "foothills area;" and WHEREAS, Resolution 86-141 , passed by the Council of the City of Fort Collins on August 19, 1986, establishes a residential density of 1 unit per 2.29 acres for the "foothills area;" and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Council of the City of Fort Collins to have the land use policy for residential densities in the "foothills area" be consistent with Larimer County residential zoning for the area to avoid conflicts between land use policy and zoning regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that references to residential densities for the "foothills area" contained in Resolution 86-141 of the Council of the City of Fort Collins be changed from "1 unit per 2.29 acres" to "1 unit per 2 acres." Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held the 17th day of February, A.D. 1987. Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk
