OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
CREATING AN AD-HOC TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, on September 1, 1987, the City Council established a Boards
and Commissions Review Subcommittee (the "Subcommittee") to review and
evaluate the function and performance of the boards and commissions for the
purpose of improving communication and enhancing the effectiveness of said
boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, the Subcommittee completed its review and evaluation and
presented its report to the City Council on March 4, 1988; and
WHEREAS, said report contained a recommendation that an ad-hoc
committee be established to serve as an advisory body to Council on
transportation policy issues including the development of the Comprehensive
Multi -Modal Transportation Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1 . That an Ad-Hoc Transportation Committee, consisting of
seven (7) members, is hereby created.
Section 2. That the Ad-Hoc Transportation Committee shall serve as an
advisory body to City Council on transportation policy issues on the
development of the Comprehensive Multi -Modal Transportation Plan. Elements
and issues to be addressed in the Comprehensive Multi -Modal Transportation
Plan include, but are not limited to:
■ existing systems analysis
■ street system
■ bikeways
■ pedestrian system ,
■ public transit
■ future regional issues
■ short and long range options - capital intensive and
transportation systems management
Section 3. That the Ad-Hoc Transportation Committee shall serve as an
advisory body to City Council on transportation policy issues relating to
fixed transit, elderly, and disabled transportation including but not
limited to Transfort, Care-A-Van, and S.A. I .N.T.
Section 4. That the Ad-Hoc Transportation Committee shall remain in
existence until development of the Transportation Plan is completed.
Following completion of the Plan, Council shall evaluate the need for
continuation of a Transportation Committee.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
17th day of May, A.D. 1988.
