HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-074-05/17/1988-CONTRACT FUND STEERING COMMITTEE PCB MATERIALS ROSE CHEMICAL ADMINISTRATIVE RESOLUTION 88-74 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT, AS A CASE NOT REQUIRING BIDDING, FOR REMOVAL OF PCB MATERIALS WHEREAS, the City is responsible for the disposal of PCB wastes until they are destroyed; and WHEREAS, certain PCB wastes were transported to the Rose Chemical - PCB Division in Holden, Missouri for disposal between November, 1982 and October, 1983; and WHEREAS, Rose Chemical has filed for protection under the Bankruptcy Act and the Rose Chemical Administrative Fund Steering Committee is now responsible for the disposal of PCB materials at the site; and WHEREAS, the Rose Chemical Administrative Fund Steering Committee has notified the City that its contribution for PCB cleanup at this time is $21,427.32; and WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted and approved in the Light and Power Utility Fund for 1988; and WHEREAS, Rose Chemical Administrative Fund Steering Committee is the only EPA-approved firm for PCB disposal at the Rose site; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-123(b) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, a case-not-requiring-bidding item to be purchased at a cost exceeding $20,000 must be approved by the City Council . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to approve a contract for PCB disposal through the Rose Chemical Administrative Fund Steering Committee at a cost " of Twenty-one Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-seven Dollars and Thirty-two Cents ($21 ,427.32) .
