OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING CITY COUNCIL'S INTENT TO COMPLETE
THE CITY'S TRAIL LOOP SYSTEM, AS
CONTEMPLATED IN THE PARKS AND
RECREATION MASTER PLAN,
WITHIN THE NEXT FOUR YEARS
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has previously
approved and adopted the Parks and Recreation Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Master Plan contemplates a trail
loop system to be constructed in the City of Fort Collins and outlying
areas; and
WHEREAS, the Council has previously adopted Ordinances No. 13 and 14,
1990, authorizing the transfer of appropriations between capital projects
in the General City Capital Projects Fund and between capital projects in
the Conservative Trust Fund, as well as appropriating prior year reserves,
all for the purpose of funding the acquisition, construction and completion
of the trail loop system contemplated in the Parks and Recreation Master
Plan; and
WHEREAS, Council anticipates that such funds, together with the City' s
future lottery revenues, will be adequate to cover the estimated costs of
completing the trail loop system within the next four years; and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the option of completing the trail
loop system within the next three years, but to do so would require
additional funds which are not currently appropriated or expected to be
available in the the next three years; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now wishes to express its intent to use the
available appropriated funds, as well as the City's future lottery
revenues, to complete the trail loop system, as contemplated in the Parks
and Recreation Master Plan, within the next four years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Council of the City of Fort Collins hereby expresses its
intent to complete the trail loop system, as contemplated in the Parks and
Recreation Master Plan, within the next four (4) years using the available
appropriated funds and the City's future lottery revenues.
Passed and adopted at a special meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 13th day of March, A.D. 1990.
