HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-027-03/13/1990-CACHE LE POUDRE RIVER FLOW DATA IGA US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY WATER QUALITY RESOLUTION 90-27 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE PROVISION OF WATER QUALITY AND FLOW DATA IN 1990 WHEREAS, the City operates and maintains a high mountain reservoir on Joe Wright Creek, a tributary of the Cache La Poudre River; and WHEREAS, the City wastewater discharge activities have had a certain impact on water characteristics of the Cache La Poudre River; and WHEREAS, information regarding flow and quality are essential for water resources planning and management activities; and WHEREAS, for the aforesaid reasons, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City that the water quality and quantity monitoring program heretofore conducted jointly with the United States Geological Survey be continued for the calendar year 1990. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1 . That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into an agreement with the United States Geological Survey for the continuation of the water quality and quantity monitoring program for the 1990 water year, in consideration of the payment by the City of a sum not to exceed Thirty-five Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty Dollars ($35,950) . Section 2. That the Mayor may, if he deems it to be in the interest of the City, extend the Agreement one (1) additional year and make modifications to the Agreement, or any extension thereof, as necessary to protect the City's interests and safeguard the City's water quality and supply.
