HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-180-12/18/1990-725 EAST VINE DRIVE PURCHASE OF LAND RESOLUTION 90-180 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS CONCERNING THE PURCHASE OF LAND LOCATED AT 725 EAST VINE DRIVE WHEREAS, current Streets Department facilities are dispersed throughout the City and lack the necessary storage to adequately provide services to the community; and WHEREAS, current facilities cannot accommodate the future needs of the Department as it grows in response to the City's increasing need for services; and WHEREAS, Council finds that a permanent Streets Department facility that consolidates Streets Department operations is in the best interests of the City; and WHEREAS, the property located at 725 East Vine Drive would consolidate Streets operations and provide enough area to meet current and future needs of the Department; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins, as Purchaser, and Weyerhaeuser, Inc. , as Seller. have entered into a Letter of Understanding for the purchase and sale of 725 East Vine Drive for a purchase price of Nine Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($947,000) ; and WHEREAS, City staff and a local M.A. I. appraiser have determined that the purchase price is equivalent to the fair market value of the property; and WHEREAS, the Letter of Understanding is contingent upon City Council approval , Planning and Zoning review, and the outcome of an environmental audit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to complete the planning of the project, to detail the project costs, and to attempt to satisfy the contingencies of the Letter of Understanding by submitting the project to the Planning and Zoning Board for review, subject to the normal appeal procedures, and by having an environmental audit of the property conducted. After having completed all of the foregoing, the City Manager is further directed to return the project and proposed purchase of the property to Council for further review and possible approval .
