OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS
REGARDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL COMPUTER
SYSTEM UPGRADE
WHEREAS, the City has submitted initial design data to the State of
Colorado (the "State") , setting forth therein preliminary details, information
and estimates of the cost of completing the City of Fort Collins Traffic Control
System Upgrade ("the Project") , which data has been approved by the State; and
WHEREAS, the direct costs of Project are entirely funded by Federal -aid
Urban Systems ("FAUS") funds; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Highways, State Department of Highways of the
State of Colorado is responsible for the administration of FAUS funds; and
WHEREAS, the City has estimated that the total cost of the Project will
be approximately One Hundred Twenty-nine Thousand Dollars ($129,000) ; with the
sum of One Hundred Twenty-six Thousand Dollars ($126,000) to be received by the
City in the form of a FAUS grant; and
WHEREAS, adequate funds have been budgeted, appropriated and otherwise made
available for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the State has presented a form of intergovernmental agreement to
be entered into between the State Department of Highways and the City of Fort
Collins for the purpose of accomplishing the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins does hereby determine that
it is in the best interest of the City that said intergovernmental agreement
be executed between the City and the State Department of Highways; and
WHEREAS; Article III, Section 16 of the City Charter provides that the
Council may enter into agreements with other governmental bodies for the
performance of cooperative or joint activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to enter into an
intergovernmental agreement between the City of Fort Collins and the State
Department of Highways of the State of Colorado, for the purpose of upgrading
the traffic control computer system in the City of Fort Collins, at a cost not
to exceed the amounts budgeted and appropriated for the completion of such
Project, including FAUS funds of One Hundred Twenty-six Thousand Dollars
($126,000) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 20th
day of November, A.D. 1990.
