OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ADOPTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE
COUNCIL'S HEALTH AND SAFETY j
COMMITTEE ON PROGRAM DETAILS FOR
THE FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, in June 1989, the Council directed the//alth and Safety
Committee to review the Fourth of July celebration/and to return with
recommendations for the 1990 event; and
WHEREAS, the Council committee reviewed the ,City's ability to serve
the public at City Park, the safety issues resulting from the growth in the
size of the crowd and the limited launch site ;of the fireworks show, the
liability issue surrounding this fireworks ,:'show and the cost of the
program; and
WHEREAS, from a detailed analysis of/the issues on the Fourth of July
celebration, it is the committee' s opinipn that City Park has exceeded its
capacity to serve the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED/BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1 . That the 1990 Wreworks show be launched from Pineridge
Open Space rather than City Park,/
Section 2. That the da ' events during the Fourth of July, 1990, be
held at several different parks throughout the city to provide greater
access to the citizens.
