OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR THE APPOINTMENT
OF COUNCIL LIAISONS TO THE CITY'S BOARDS
AND COMMISSIONS AND THE APPOINTMENT OF
COUNCILMEMBERS TO VARIOUS BOARDS,
COMMITTEES AND ORGANIZATIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council appoints Councilmembers to serve as Council
liaisons to the City's boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, the Council has established a number of Council committees and
appoints Councilmembers to these various committees; and
WHEREAS, Council appoints representatives to certain other organizations
of which the City is a member; and
WHEREAS, these appointments have historically been made annually following
the Council reorganization meeting each spring; and
WHEREAS, recent amendments to the City Charter have changed the need for
a Council reorganization meeting from annually to biennially; and
WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of clarifying the terms of existing
appointments and the frequency with which such appointments will be made in the
future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the appointment of Council liaisons, committee members, and representatives
shall generally be made at the regular meeting following the Council
reorganization meeting in April of odd-numbered years. The Council may also
make such interim appointments as it deems necessary or advisable in the public
interest.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 2nd
day of July, A.D. 1991.
