OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER AN
AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE LAND FOR A PROPOSED
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SITE
WHEREAS, James M. Montgomery Engineers have completed a master plan
for wastewater treatment expansion for the City; and
WHEREAS, said plan indicates that a new regional wastewater treatment
plant should be constructed east of I-25 within eight to ten years; and
WHEREAS, the Wastewater Master Plan Committee established by Council
Resolution 89-186 has reviewed the master plan and reported its finding to
City Council ; and
WHEREAS, the Committee recommended that land be purchased as soon as
possible to accommodate a future regional wastewater treatment plant; and
WHEREAS, a contract for the purchase of a 160 acre site for such
future plant from Norman E. Jacoby at a cost of $437,500 (Four Hundred
Thirty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars) has been entered contingent
upon Council approval ; and
WHEREAS, funds are budgeted and available for the purchase in the
Capital Projects Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute
an agreement for the purchase of 160 acres from Norman E. Jacoby at a cost
of $437,500 (Four Hundred Thirty-Seven Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars. )
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 5th day of June, A.D. 1990.
