OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING A CHANGE ORDER TO A
PROFESSIONALS SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH GREENHORNE AND O'MARA INC.
WHEREAS, Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins ("the
Code") authorizes contracts for services of a professional , technical or
consulting nature, the major result of which would yield to the City a
report, plan or similar document upon approval of the City Manager after
evaluation in accordance with the procedure for selection of professionals;
and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that the preliminary
design, final design and construction management services for the canal
importation channel from Spring Creek to Shields Street come within the
purview of this section of the Code; and
WHEREAS, in February of 1988, the City issued a request for proposals
for the above described services; and
WHEREAS, in April of 1988, the Council of the City of Fort Collins
approved a professional services agreement with Greenhorne and O'Mara, Inc.
for the preliminary design and final design services; and
WHEREAS, Greenhorne and O'Mara, Inc. has satisfactorily completed the
preliminary and final design for the Canal Importation Channel from Spring
Creek to Shields Street; and
WHEREAS, the Stormwater Utility recommends that the professional
services contract be changed to add the construction management services
for this project; and
WHEREAS, the total fee for construction management services shall not
exceed Fifty-one Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-eight Dollars ($51,668) ; and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted and appropriated in the Storm
Drainage budget for 1990 for the acquisition of the above mentioned
construction management services; and
WHEREAS , the City Manager has approved contracting for the
construction management services; and
WHEREAS, 8-129 requires approval of the City Council for any
professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars
($20,000) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IN RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that a change order to the contract with Greenhorne and O'Mara,
Inc. for the Canal Importation Channel from Spring Creek to Shields Street,
adding construction management services at a cost of Fifty-one Thousand Six
Hundred Sixty-eight Dollars ($51 ,668) , is hereby approved.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
15th day of May, A.D. 1990.
