OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH ROBB, BRENNER & BRELIG, INC.
FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION SERVICES
FOR THE REMODEL OF THE INDOOR POOL
WHEREAS, Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins ("the
Code") authorizes contracts for services of a professional , technical or
consulting nature, the major result of which would yield to the City a
report, a plan or a similar document upon approval of the City Manager
after evaluation in accordance with the procedure for selection of
professionals; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that the preliminary
design, final design and construction administration services for the
remodeling of the indoor pool come within the purview of this Section of
the Code; and
WHEREAS, in January of 1990, the City issued a Request for Proposals
for the above-described services; and
WHEREAS, the Selection Committee reviewed ten proposals, interviewed
the tap three firms and selected Robb, Brenner & Brelig, Inc. , as the most
qualified firm for this project; and
WHEREAS, the work has been divided into three phases: Phase I,
consisting of the conceptual and preliminary design services to begin in
April of 1990; Phase II, consisting of the final design; and Phase III,
consisting of construction administration services to begin later in the
year; and
WHEREAS, the total fee for Phases I, II and III shall not exceed One
Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000) ; and
WHEREAS, funds for Phases I and II have been budgeted and appropriated
and are available in the Capital Projects Fund; and
WHEREAS, Phases I, II and III shall each exceed Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) ; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved contracting for professional
services for Phases I, II and II ; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-129 of the Code requires approval of the City
Council for any professional service agreement in excess of $20,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the professional services agreement with Robb, Brenner &
Brelig, Inc. , for the performance of the following services for the
remodeling of the indoor pool is hereby approved:
Phase I - Conceptual and preliminary design services in an amount
not to exceed Forty-seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($47,500) ; and
Phase II - Final design services in an amount not to exceed Forty-
five Thousand Dollars ($45,000) ; and
Phase III - Construction administration services in an amount not to
exceed Thirty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($37,500) after a full appropriation therefor shall have
been made in the budget.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 17th day of April A.D. 1990.
