HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-005-01/16/1990-2515 WEST MULBERRY AGREEMENT DESIGN CONCEPTS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ROGERS PARK RESOLUTION 90- 5 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR THE FINAL DESIGN OF ROGERS PARK WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has a policy of providing one neighborhood park in every residentially developed square mile of the city; and WHEREAS, the City has acquired 8.65 acres of land at 2515 West Mulberry for a neighborhood park; and WHEREAS, §8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins (the "Code") authorizes contracts for services of a professional , technical or consulting nature, the major result of which would yield to the City a report, plan or similar document upon approval of the City Manager after evaluation in accordance with the procedure for selection of professionals; and WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that engineering design services come within the purview of this section of the Code; and WHEREAS, in October of 1989, the City issued a request for proposals for final design services for Rogers Park; and WHEREAS, the selection committee reviewed nine proposals, interviewed the top three firms and selected Design Concepts as the most qualified firm for this project; and WHEREAS, the fee shall not exceed Thirty-five Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-eight Dollars ($35,228) for the performance of such work; and WHEREAS , funds for this expenditure have been budgeted and appropriated and are available in the Parkland Fund; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved this contract for professional services; and WHEREAS, §8-129 of the Code requires approval of the City Council for any such contracts in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000. ) . NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Design Concepts for the final design of Rogers Park for a sum not to exceed Thirty-five Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-eight Dollars ($35,228) . Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 16th day of January, A.D. 1990. Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk
