OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A REVISED
EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
AND STEPHEN J. ROY
WHEREAS, under Article VI, Section 1 of the City Charter, the City Council
is to appoint and fix the salary of a city attorney to serve as the legal adviser
of the Council and all employees of the City in matters relating to their
official powers and duties; and
WHEREAS, since June 7, 1988, Stephen J. Roy has served as City Attorney of
the City pursuant to the provisions of an employment agreement dated June 7,
1988; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 91-127, the Council directed the Mayor and Mayor Pro
Tem to review the employment agreement of the City Attorney and make
recommendations to the Council regarding any proposed revisions to the terms and
conditions thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Council and the City Attorney have completed such review and
are jointly recommending to the Council the acceptance of a revised employment
agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this
reference as Exhibit "A" ; and
WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of approving the revised agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached employment
agreement between the City and Stephen J. Roy upon the terms and conditions
stated therein, which agreement shall take effect January 1, 1992.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 17th day of December, A.D. 1991 .
