OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF .FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER A CONTRACT WITH
THE STATE OF COLORADO FOR THE RECEIPT OF FEDERAL AID
TO URBAN SYSTEMS FUNDS AND THE OPERATION OF
A RIDESHARING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City operates a ridesharing program known as "Commuter Pool "
for the residents of the City of Fort Collins and the area of northern Colorado;
and
WHEREAS, the City has received Federal Aid to Urban Systems (FAUS) funding
to support this program in the past and wishes to continue to do so; and
WHEREAS, the FAUS funding fully supports this program, requiring no
additional funding from the City; and
WHEREAS, Section 29-1-203, C.R.S. , authorizes the City to cooperate and
contract with other governmental agencies in order to provide any function,
service or facility lawfully authorized to each provided such contract is
properly approved by each party thereto; and
WHEREAS, Article II, Section 16 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
authorizes the Council , by ordinance or resolution, to enter into contracts with
other governmental bodies to furnish governmental services or enter into
cooperative or joint activities with other governmental bodies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental
agreement between the City of Fort Collins and the State of Colorado for the
operation and funding of a commuter pool locator service and including the
following terms:
Section 1 . The City will provide a centralized method for local
governments to work together with the private sector in addressing common
rideshare goals beneficial to the entire region.
Section 2. The City will submit quarterly financial statements to the
State for review.
Section 3. The City will submit quarterly cost data to the State and
receive such amounts, after State review and approval , up to a total of Ninety-
one Thousand Seven Hundred Eighteen Dollars ($91,718) .
Section 4. The term of this Agreement shall be from January 1 , 1992,
through December 31 , 1992.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 17th day of December, 1991 .
