HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-036-03/05/1996-APPOINTING LARIMER COUNTY OPEN LANDS ADVISORY BOARD TOM SHOEMAKER RESOLUTION 96-36 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPOINTING A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LARIMER COUNTY OPEN LANDS ADVISORY BOARD WHEREAS, in the November 1995 election the voters of Larimer County approved an initiative for a county-wide 1/4-cent sales and use tax specifically earmarked for open space, natural areas, wildlife habitat, regional parks and trails; and WHEREAS, the initiative requires the Latimer County Board of Commissioners (the "Commissioners") to create an Open Lands Advisory Board ("Advisory Board") to make recommendations regarding the County's share of the sales and use tax; and WHEREAS, the initiative stipulates that the Advisory Board"at a minimum shall consist of one (1) elected official or appointee from the municipalities of Berthoud, Estes Park, Fort Collins, and Loveland; one(1)member from the Larimer County Planning Commission; and four(4)citizens appointed at large"; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners have requested that the Council of the City of Fort Collins appoint the City's representative to the Advisory Board by March 7, 1996. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. That Tom Shoemaker,Natural Resources Director,is hereby appointed as the City of Fort Collins representative to the Larimer County Open Lands Advisory Board. Section 2. That Tom Shoemaker shall serve as the City's representative until such time as his term on the Advisory Board expires, or he is no longer employed by the City of Fort Collins, whichever shall occur first.
