OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
REPEALING RESOLUTION 85-134 PROMULGATING RULES AND
REGULATIONS WITH REGARD TO THE INVESTMENT PRACTICES
OF THE CITY AND WITH REGARD TO THE PURCHASING OF SUPPLIES
AND CONTRACTUAL SERVICES BY THE CITY AS SUCH INVESTMENTS
AND PURCHASES RELATE TO THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA
WHEREAS, Resolution 85-134 promulgated rules and regulations with regard
to the investment practices of the City and with regard to the purchases of
supplies and services by the City, insofar as such investments and purchases
relate to the Republic of South Africa; and
WHEREAS, on September 24, 1993, the leader of the African National Congress
requested that the United Nations lift all economic sanctions against South
Africa; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins wishes to recognize the progress made by
South Africa concerning apartheid by removing investment and purchase
restrictions imposed by Resolution 85-134.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that Resolution 85-134 is hereby repealed.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Ci Council held thi 2nd
day of November, A.D. 1993.
