HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-110-07/20/1993-COLORADO DEPT TRANSPORTATION IGA NORTHEAST AREA STUDY NORTHEAST ARTERIAL PLAN STP FUNDS TRANSPORTATI RESOLUTION 93-110 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR A TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR PROJECT ON US 287/COLORADO 14 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 92-189 of the Council of the City of Fort Collins, there was established a "Northeast Arterial Plan," which, among other things, directed the staff to pursue the construction of "Alternative 1" of the Northeast Area Study, which Alternative was designed to keep the existing traffic pattern on US Highway 287 and Colorado Highway 14 but to provide improvements to this traffic corridor in order for the corridor to function at its most optimal level until approximately the end of the year 2000; and WHEREAS, in pursuance of the aforesaid directive of the City Council , the City, Larimer County and the Colorado Department of Transportation have worked together to formulate a "Transportation Corridor Project"; and WHEREAS, the cost of said project is anticipated to be $100,000, with $80,000 of said cost to be funded by the North Front Range Transportation and Air Quality Planning Council Surface Transportation Funds (STP funds) ; $15,000 of said cost shall be defrayed by the Colorado Department of Transportation; and $5,000 of said cost shall be defrayed by the City of Fort Collins "Transportation Fund" budget for 1993 and 1994; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City that the Transportation Corridor Study be conducted and that an intergovernmental agreement between the State Department of Transportation and the City be executed for the purpose of guiding the study and allocating the funds necessary therefor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to execute an intergovernmental agreement between the City and the State Department of Transportation for the purpose of conducting a "Transportation Corridor Project" for US Highway 287 and Colorado Highway 14 from Interstate Highway 25 to the LaPorte Bypass, the cost of which study shall not exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) , with Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000) of said cost to be funded from STP funds of the North Front Range Transportation and Air Quality and Planning Council ; Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) of which shall be defrayed by the Colorado Department of Transportation; and Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) of which shall be defrayed by the City of Fort Collins Department of Transportation "Transportation Fund" budget for the years 1993 and 1994.
