OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO NORTHERN COLORADO WATER CONSERVANCY
DISTRICT FOR CANCELLATION OF CLASS B ALLOTMENT CONTRACT
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins holds 745 acre-foot units of Colorado-
Big Thompson (CBT) Project water under a Class B Allotment Contract approved
March 12, 1993 with the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (NCWCD) ;
and
WHEREAS, the NCWCD developed and approved a new standard allotment
contract under C.R.S. 37-45-131 (Section 131) to address issues related to
Amendment 1, adopted by Colorado voters on November 5, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the NCWCD is recommending that all former Class B contracts
that were entered into after November 5, 1992 be converted to the new Section
131 contract; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins desires to convert these 745 acre-foot
units of CBT water from the former Class B contract to the new Section 131
perpetual allotment contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to apply to the NCWCD for
cancellation of the former Class B Allotment Contract dated March 12, 1993 for
the Seven Hundred Forty-five (745) acre-foot units of CBT water in order for
the City to convert such water to use under a new Section 131 perpetual
allotment contract with the NCWCD.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 6th day of December, A.D. 19
