OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ADOPTING A FARE STRUCTURE FOR DIAL-A-RIDE
WHEREAS, the City presently provides Dial-A-Ride services, at no charge,
to persons with disabilities who are eligible to use this service under the
Americans With Disabilities Act "ADA"; and
WHEREAS, the City also presently provides Dial-A-Ride services to persons
sixty years of age and older; and
WHEREAS, the City's actual number of Dial -A-Ride trips have greatly
exceeded the City's estimated usage, and therefore increased the cost for
providing these services; and
WHEREAS, in order to help offset some of the cost of providing Dial-A-Ride
services, it is necessary for the City to impose a fare for such service; and
WHEREAS, the ADA allows the City to charge a fare to ADA eligible customers
for Dial -A-Ride services up to twice the amount of the full fare charged for
Transfort fixed-route services; and
WHEREAS, charging all Dial -A-Ride customers a fare according to the
following schedule will partially offset the City's cost of providing Dial-A-Ride
services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the fare to be charged to all users of the City's Dial -A-Ride services
shall be as follows:
From January 1, 1995, through December 31, 1995, the fare shall be equal
to the full amount of the full adult fare charged to persons using
Transfort fixed-route services.
From January 1, 1996, through December 31, 1996, the fare shall be equal
to one and one-half times the full amount of the adult fare charged to
persons using Transfort fixed-route services.
From January 1, 1997, and thereafter, the fare shall be equal to twice the
full amount of the adult fare charged to persons using Transfort fixed-
route services.
