OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF COMPUTER AIDED
DISPATCH CENTER UPGRADES FROM PRC PUBLIC SECTOR, INC.
AS AN EXCEPTION TO THE USE OF A COMPETITIVE BID OR
PROPOSAL PROCESS
WHEREAS, PRC Public Sector, Inc. (PRC) has provided all of the hardware and
software for the existing computer aided dispatch center for the Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted and approved in the Police Department
budget for 1994 for this purchase; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160(d) (1) (c) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
authorizes the Purchasing Agent to negotiate the purchase of supplies and
services without utilizing a competitive bidding process where the Purchasing
Agent determines that a particular good or service is required to maintain
interchangeability or compatibility as a part of an existing integrated system;
and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that the procurement from PRC
is required to,,maintain compatibility with the existing computer aided dispatch
center, and has submitted this determination to the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has reviewed and approved this acquisition; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160(d) (3) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
requires approval of this purchasing method by the City Council for items costing
more than Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) prior to acquisition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Council hereby approves the acquisition of PC workstations, records
management systems hardware, and computer software upgrades from PRC Public
Sector, Inc. , for the computer aided dispatch center in the amount of One Hundred
Sixty-five Thousand Four Hundred Eighty-seven and 15/100 Dollars ($165,487.15)
without a competitive bid or proposal process.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Ci Council d his 1st
day of November, A.D. , 1994.
