RESOLUTION 93-1
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF LARIMER COUNTY,
(FORMERLY THE ACTIVITIES YOUTH CENTER)
AS AN EXCEPTION TO THE COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into an agreement for services
with the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County (formerly the Activities Youth
Center) to provide a variety of recreational and personal growth opportunities
for youth in the community ages 10 to 18; and
WHEREAS, $60,000 in funds has been budgeted and appropriated in the Cultural ,
Library, and Recreational Services Administration budget for 1993 for the
acquisition of these services; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160(d) (1) (a) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
provides that a contract for services may be awarded without competition if the
Purchasing Agent determines in writing that only one responsible source exists;
and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined in writing that the acquisition
of these services is within the purview of this exception to the competitive
sealed bidding and/or proposal requirements of the City Code and Charter and has
submitted the determination to the City Manager for approval ; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has reviewed and approved the determination for
this purchase; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160(d) (3) requires the City Manager to submit all such
exemptions which exceed a cost of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) to the City
Council in an open meeting for final approval .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the acquisition of youth recreation and personal growth services from the
Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County, as an exemption from the competitive
process and at a cost not to exceed Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000) , is hereby
approved.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 5th day of January, A.D. 1993.
