OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE
A 15-ACRE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK ADJACENT TO
THE NEW FORT COLLINS HIGH SCHOOL SITE
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has an adopted policy to
cooperate with the Poudre R-1 School District ("the District") in the acquisition
and development of recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the District has acquired land for a new Fort Collins High School
located near the intersections of Timberline and Horsetooth Roads in the City of
Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the District is willing to sell to the City a parcel of land
adjacent to the new high school site comprising 15.0218 acres at a cost of
$16,000 per acre, to be used by the City for a neighborhood park and athletic
fields; and
WHEREAS, the City has a need for additional athletic fields and for a
neighborhood park; and
WHEREAS, this site meets the City Master Plan criteria for neighborhood
parks; and
WHEREAS, the funds necessary to acquire this park site are available in the
Parkland Fund pursuant to the 1992 budget process and may be expended for this
acquisition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the
District to purchase from the District the parcel of property described in
Exhibit "A, " which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference,
comprising 15.0218 acres, for a cost not to exceed Sixteen Thousand Dollars
($16,000) per acre.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 5th day of May, A.D. 1992.
