OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
SUPPORTING THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN ROOKIE BASEBALL LEAGUE
WHEREAS, citizens in Colorado and Wyoming have organized the Rocky Mountain
Rookie League and are preparing proposals to present to player development
personnel of certain major league baseball clubs to obtain their approval to move
the Arizona Rookie League to the Rocky Mountain region; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins-Loveland area has been targeted to receive one
of the Rookie League teams; and
WHEREAS, Fort Collins-Loveland Baseball Association, Inc. , the local
organizing committee in the Rookie League effort, has prepared a community
profile and facilities plan in consultation with public and private groups in
this area; and
WHEREAS, a professional baseball team in the Fort Collins-Loveland area
would add to the quality of life in Fort Collins, contribute positively to the
economic base and serve as the catalyst for the construction of recreational
facilities which will be of long-term usefulness to the people of Fort Collins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Council of Fort Collins hereby endorses and supports the Rocky
Mountain Rookie League and the efforts of Fort Collins-Loveland Baseball
Association, Inc. , to bring a rookie team to this area.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 5th day of May, 1992.
