OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION TO
LOREN MAXEY FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS
TO THE COMMUNITY AS COUNCILMEMBER
WHEREAS, Loren Maxey was elected as Councilmember representing District 2
for a two-year term and took office on April 14, 1987; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Maxey was again elected by the voters of the City of Fort
Collins for a four-year term representing Council District 2 and served in this
capacity from March 14, 1989 until April 13, 1993; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Maxey also served as a member of the Poudre Fire
Authority Board of Directors, the Downtown Development Authority Board, the
Governance Committee, the Health and Safety Committee, the Larimer County Fair
Board, the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority, the Community Development
Corporation, the Ethics Review Board, the Joint Utility District Advisory
Committee, the Railroad Relocation Committee, the Transportation Advisory
Committee Task Force, the Wastewater Master Plan Committee, the Water Demand
Management Committee, the Water Quality/Water Treatment Master Plan Committee,
the Transportation and Communication Policy and Steering Committees of the
National League of Cities, the 208 Water Quality Committee, the Metropolitan
Planning Organization Policy Board, and the Council of Governments; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Maxey also served as a liaison to various Boards and
Commissions and in numerous other assignments during his six-year tenure as
Councilmember; and
WHEREAS, this period of time has seen great growth and change in the City,
and Loren Maxey was called upon to devote substantial time and energy to the
affairs of the City of Fort Collins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Loren Maxey for
his service and contributions to the community as Councilmember.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 20th
day of April , A.D. 1993.
