OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH
A DIAL-A-RIDE FARE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 1994,
AT TWICE THE FULL FIXED-ROUTE FARE
WHEREAS, the City presently provides Dial -A-Ride services, at no charge,
to persons with disabilities who are eligible to use this service under the
Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA") ; and
WHEREAS, the City's cost of providing the Dial -A-Ride services has greatly
exceeded the City's anticipated cost for providing these services; and
WHEREAS, in order to help offset some of the costs of providing Dial -A-Ride
Services, it is necessary for the City to impose a fare for such service; and
WHEREAS, most persons using this service are ADA eligible customers; and
WHEREAS, the ADA allows the City to charge a fare to ADA eligible customers
for Dial -A-Ride services up to twice the amount of full fares charged for
comparable Transfort Services; and
WHEREAS, charging Dial-A-Ride customers a fare equal to twice the full fare
charged to users of the City's Transfort services will partially offset the
City's cost of providing Dial -A-Ride services and is a fair amount to be charged
for these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Manager is hereby authorized to establish a fare for users of the
City's Dial-A-Ride services, effective October 1, 1994, equal to twice the amount
of the full fare charged to persons using comparable Transfort services.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 20th
day of September, A.D. 1994.
