OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
NAMING THE NEW SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER
WHEREAS, in 1989, the citizens of Fort Collins voted to fund the
construction of a new senior citizen center; and
WHEREAS, the new senior citizen center is presently being constructed and
is anticipated to open in December of 1994; and
WHEREAS, the City held a contest to name the new senior citizen center and
received 769 entries; and
WHEREAS, the City established a committee to select the name for the senior
citizen center from the entries received from the City's contest; and
WHEREAS, the City's committee to name the senior citizen center has
selected a name from the entries received and has recommended that the new senior
citizen center be named Foothills Oasis: Fort Collins Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, the Council approves of the committee's recommendation and wishes
to name the new senior citizen center the Foothills Oasis: Fort Collins Senior
Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS,
that the City's new senior citizen center shall be named the Foothills Oasis:
Fort Collins Senior Center.
