HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-155-09/20/1994-DOROTHY AND ROB UDALL NAMING POUDRE RIVER UDALL NATURAL AREA RESOLUTION 94-155 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS NAMING A CITY-OWNED NATURAL AREA IN HONOR OF DOROTHY AND ROB UDALL WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 94-20, the Council of the City of Fort Collins authorized the purchase of approximately twenty-five (25) acres of land along the Poudre River in Fort Collins for storm drainage and natural area purposes; and WHEREAS, the purpose of said acquisition was to restore the land to enhance wildlife habitat, aesthetics, and other natural values and provide public open space in the core of the City; and WHEREAS, the late Dorothy Udall worked tirelessly over many years to protect and enhance the natural values and public use opportunities of the Poudre River in Fort Collins for the benefit of the community; and WHEREAS, Rob Udall remains a dedicated volunteer and ardent supporter of the community's efforts to restore natural areas along the Poudre River; and WHEREAS, in honor of the Udalls' substantial efforts to protect and enhance lands along the Poudre River for the benefit of the City, the Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City that the parcel of land acquired by the City pursuant to Resolution 94-20 of the Council be named the "Udall Natural Area. " NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the parcel of land acquired by the City pursuant to Resolution 94-20 of the Council be named the "Udall Natural Area" in recognition of the efforts by Dorothy and Rob Udall toward the protection and enhancement of natural areas along the Poudre River.
