OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A NEIGHBORHOOD PARK AT
MIRAMONT/OAK FARM
WHEREAS, the City has been interested for several years in purchasing
property for a neighborhood park in the area south of Harmony Road and west of
Lemay Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified an appropriate site for a neighborhood
park in this area located in the Miramont development; and
WHEREAS, contributions by neighboring developers and a reduction in the
purchase price of the property by the owner will allow the City to acquire
approximately 12.9 acres of land at below market value; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to acquire this site for
a neighborhood park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement to purchase
approximately 12.9 acres of land identified on Exhibit "A, " which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, for a price not to exceed Two
Hundred Fifty-eight Thousand Dollars ($258,000) , to be developed into a
neighborhood park, said agreement shall include a provision that the City will
pay its fair share of street improvements and pond and irrigation improvements
to serve such neighborhood park and shall contain such other terms and conditions
as the City Manager and City Attorney may consider necessary and appropriate.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Ci Council held this 20th
day of September, A.D. 1994.
