OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A GROUND LEASE
FOR THE JOINT LIBRARY SITE
WHEREAS, the City desires to open a branch library in southern Fort Collins
to better provide library services to the citizens of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the City anticipates entering into an intergovernmental agreement
with Front Range Community College ("the College") to jointly develop, operate
and maintain a library on the College's Larimer Campus to be used as a joint
community college/public library; and
WHEREAS, the College has agreed to lease to the City a site for the joint
library sufficient in size to accommodate a library building approximately 6500
square feet in size and to provide sufficient parking for library users; and
WHEREAS, the College is offering to lease the library site to the City for
$1 .00 per year and for a term of ten years; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it is in the best interests of the
citizens of Fort Collins to lease the above referenced library site from the
College to be used for a joint community college/public library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to enter into a lease agreement
with the College for a site on the College's Larimer Campus for the joint
community college/public library for a rent of One Dollar ($1 .00) per year and
for a term of ten (10) years and on such other terms and conditions as the City
and the College may agree.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 6th day of September, A.D. 1994.
